Carroll County Farm Bureau Annual Meeting

President, Mike Beale, welcomed all to the 2003 Carroll County Farm Bureau Annual Meeting. Invocation was lead by Mark Justice; who also dismissed tables to dinner catered by Parrett’s Catering.
Howard Kellman, sportscaster for the Indianapolis Indians, spoke. He highlighted some of his more humorous stories from his experience in the world of baseball.
Mike Beale then called the meeting to order, Shawn Ashby led the pledge to the flag, and Janice Frey gave devotions on Ag Day. Mike introduced the board and the agents and CSR at the insurance office. The reading of the secretary’s report was waived. Kendall Culp, District 3 President, highlighted several of the key legislative issues at the state house this session. Shawn then went over the resolutions, passed out ballots and called for a vote. Mark Justice led the election officers. President, Vice President, and Pet & Hobby leader were up for election; as well as, 3 delegates and 3 alternates for the State Convention. Ballots were distributed. Janice Wilson, District 3 Representative, spoke briefly on property tax reassessment and tax billing.
Marianne Ash from the Indiana State Board of Health and Steve Nichols with County Extension spoke on Agri-bioterrorism and the plan they putting together should there be an attack in Carroll County.
Mike Beale announced that all resolutions passed and would be forwarded to the State level. Mark Justice returned with the results of the election. President – Mike Beale, Vice President – Ryan Swayze, Pet & Hobby Leader – Tracie Swayze. Delegates: Shawn Ashby, Mike Beale, & Mark Justice. Alternates: Craig Frey, Kathy Justice, & Betty Ward.
Meeting Adjourned. Door Prizes were awarded.
