Ag Fact More than 12 percent of the 2004 corn crop will be used for ethanol production according to projections from the Agriculture Department The meeting was held at the Delphi Farm Bureau Insurance office and called to order by President Mike Beale. Ryan Swayze, led 11 board members and 1 guest in the pledge to the flag. Ty Brown read devotions and led us in prayer. The secretary’s report: reading of the minutes from the September meeting were waived as they were enclosed with October’s meeting notice. The minutes were approved as written. One of the CD’s is scheduled to come due on 12/5/05, Ty made a motion to renew it for one year at 4.01 through Farm Bureau Bank, Craig Frey seconded, and the motion carried. Mike will take care of getting the proper paperwork filled out and returned. Mike distributed tickets for State Conference next month. There will be a Meth Awareness Workshop on December 1st at Delphi High School 7pm and January 25th at Carroll High School. Sponsored by Partners for a Drug Free Carroll County. District 3 Fall Meeting will be 11/29/05 at the Tippecanoe County Fair Grounds. Silent Auction starts at 6, dinner at 6:30. Janice Frey is getting together a basket of Carroll County Grown Goodies and Mike is getting 2 Carroll County Throws for the State Convention Silent Auction. Ryan Swayze was appointed at the new Membership Chairman as Betty Ward resigned her position last month. Sacha Brown would really enjoy a girls night out, so check your calendars and get back with her on a date and activity. The 2006 Board Christmas party will be held at the Beale Residence on December 19th at 6pm. Mike will have the ham & drinks, bring a covered dish and a hungry tummy! Insurance Report: Jim Saylors reported that they have hired a new gal at Flora, Kim Lambert and that overall things are working pretty smooth in both offices. Janice Frey, County Woman’s Leader, reported that there was one entry in the Lugar essay contest: Jill Griffin. So she was the Carroll County Winner, Janice will get her a $50 prize check. Jill was also selected at the District Winner! CONGRATULATIONS! The District Women’s Leaders have been working on the Carolyn Burkle Scholarship. Food Check out is February 2nd. Elementary Coloring Contest is due February 1st. And Spring Conference is March 10-11, 2006 Membership Report: Betty Ward reported that Carroll County did not make membership. We ended up at 98% of total. Mike wanted to know if anyone saw the Channel 18 Property Tax Clip. Property Tax issues will be #1 on State Legislators slate this session. On average they predict that property taxes will increase 10%! Mike will also be on the State Resolutions Committee in 2006. Janice Wilson, Field Staff, went over a questionnaire on County Office holders and will be putting together a program on “educating county legislators about Ag issues and Farm Bureau” She also distributed her monthly board report. Tracie also suggested that we put together a committee to organize and develop the Annual Meeting for 2006. Mike appointed her and Sasha co-chairpersons. Janice Frey and Rusty Ashby also volunteered to help. The December 13th Marketing Meeting will be held at the Ashby Residence at 6:30pm The meeting was adjourned.
