The meeting was held at the Delphi Farm Bureau Insurance office and called to order by Vice President Ryan Swayze. Ryan led 12 board members in the pledge to the flag. The secretary’s report: reading of the minutes from the July meeting were waived as they were enclosed with last month’s meeting notice. The minutes were approved as written. There was no Treasurer’s report.

Women’s Leader Report: Janice Frey reported that she & Jerry and their 3 kids & spouses went on the Young Farmer trip to Wisconsin and it was fantastic. She also attended the Summer Council and found it very interesting. Reminder that September 8th is the District 3 Fall Seminar. Craig Frey moved that we pay for the meals of those who attend; motion was seconded by Mark Justice. Motion passed. Janice also challenged us to encourage a local teacher to attend the Teachers Workshop on Oct 5th.

Field Staff Report: Janice gave highlights of her board report giving special note to Ace Ambassador Program, Planning & Zoning Workshop, Drainage School, Farmer Idea Exchange, Back to School Basics, and State Convention programs.

It was noted that five couples helped with Little Hands on the Farm Saturday at the State Fair. Janice Frey moved that we pay the Young Farmers mileage to & from the State Fair, Craig seconded and the motion passed.

Janice Wilson asked that whether or not we thought Farm Bureau should endorse a gubernatorial candidate and if so which one. Through a ballot vote we recommend that Farm Bureau not endorse either candidate.

Also noted that several of the suggested improvements have been made to the building.

Watched a Farm Bureau video on the Dept Ag, Property Tax Reform, and the use of Bio Diesel & Ethanol.
