Carroll County Farm Bureau Board Meeting
-- July 19, 2004 --
The meeting was held at the Delphi Farm
Bureau Insurance office and called to order by President, Mike Beale.
Prayer was given by Janice Wilson and 14 board members and four visitors
enjoyed a carry-in “picnic” meal. Following the meal Vice President,
Ryan Swayze, led the pledge to the flag. The secretary’s report: reading
of the minutes from the June meeting were waived as they were enclosed
with last month’s meeting notice. Minutes & Treasurers Report were
approved as written. A Thank you for Purdue trip sponsorship from
Whitney Cripe was shared.
Business:
Building Repairs: Everyone gathered outside to inspect the structure and
surrounding lot. Rusty Ashby made a list of needed repairs and Janice
will e-mail Tom Leisure with it on Tuesday morning. The list is as
follows:
1.One sink hole about one foot deep and one foot wide. Northwest side.
Currently there is a chair covering it up.
2.One metal pole sticking out of the asphalt on the west side of the
property.
3.Outside lights on the west side of the building do not work. There are
curb protectors there for the building. Several have tripped on them
after a board meeting because you can't see them.
4.Urn has no base and is about to fall over. West side of the building
by the back door.
5.Eave trough. Reattach West side of the building
6.Attach brick on sign planter. East side of the building
7.Trim trees near track
8.Roof
9.Spray gravel lot for weeds
10. Landscape a.) trim bushes b.) pull weeds
11. Windows need painted on the south side and trim pieces repaired.
Window has a bullet hole in it.
County Fair Booth: Danielle Swayze drew out the winners for the JD bikes
displayed at the Fair Booth. Celica Slavens of Idaville and Kevin Bosma
of Delphi were the winners. Tracie Swayze called and left messages with
each of them to pick them up at the office. Ryan suggested getting
rubber coated chains for the bikes next year, they got pretty scratched
up from the current chain.
Shawn Ashby made a motion to give $500 to the 4-H building fund starting
in 2005 and to forget the previous motion to give $10 to each FB member
4-Her due to the fact that there wasn’t any announcement at the 2004
auction and we didn’t want to leave out the members that did not have
auction animals. Junior quickly seconded the motion and it passed.
Little Hands on the Farm at the State Fair: August 14th at 9:30am.
Beale’s, Brown’s, Ashby’s, Swayze’s, & Justice’s to attend. Janice will
send Fair Tickets and a meal allowance out next week.

details added.

are delegates. Alternates are Kathy Justice, Ty Brown, and Ryan.

discuss the changes with their local directors. Jr Snider reported that
he is reading Bill Clinton’s book and finds it very interesting.

voting and 107 total.
Safety: Maxine Snider read an article on the “do’s and don’t at the gas
pump!”
Women’s Leader Report: Janice Frey presented the 4-H tenure awards at
the fair and highlighted upcoming dates.

to be determined.

turning out. Everyone loved the little gators in the parade.
