Carroll County Farm Bureau Board Meeting
-- April 19, 2004 --

The meeting was held at the Delphi Farm Bureau Insurance office and called to order by President, Mike Beale. Mike led the 5 Board of Directors present in the pledge to the flag. Maxine Snider gave devotions. Secretary’s report: reading of the minutes from the March meeting were waived as they were enclosed with last month’s meeting notice. Minutes & Treasurers Report were approved as written.

Old Business:
Website: Voted to pay the invoice to Perfective Web Design for $435 and add $65 for a job well done and above & beyond our expectations. $500.00 total invoice.
Annual Meeting Comments: need Microphone next year, Entertainment was excellent, suggest Betty help register guests next year to insure Carroll County members are signed in separately from guests.
Ag Day: went off without a hitch, Mike read Thank you from Rhonda at CCSWD. Scholarship: The board received 2 applications both from Delphi. Both students were highly qualified and deserving. As a result the board voted to give a $250 scholarship to both of the applicants. Mike or Shawn Ashby will attend the awards banquet to honor the recipients on May 28th.

New Business:
Well Water Testing: Soil and Water asked if CCFB would be interested in sponsoring well water testing along with them. The motion was made to sponsor $20 per water sample for Farm Bureau Members. Motion passed.
Janice Wilson, Farm Bureau Field Rep, asked that the board pledge $50 to the Homecoming Celebration of the 209th. Motion passed.

Membership: Betty Ward reported we are currently at 92%, need 68 more voting and 273 total.

Local Affairs: Junior Snider commented on the current county EMT situation.

Safety Report: Maxine Snider reported on staying safe for a lifetime.

Women’s Leader Report: Betty, assistant women’s leader, gave a quick report on the District 3 Spring Seminar at Canal Park.

“Baby on Board”: Mark & Kathy Justice had a baby girl Sunday, April 18th at 10:55am. They named her Morgan Ray, 7lbs 5oz, 21 inches long. Congratulations!
It was also reported that Tara Bishop, our office secretary, had a baby boy. They named him Cason Lee, 9lbs 15oz, 22 inches long. Best Wishes!

The meeting was adjourned. Next meeting will be May 17th. We will be discussing ideas and making plans for the 4-H County Fair Booth. Refreshments to be given by Craig Frey.
